The Process
back to topReach out and let’s start a conversation! While the process might look different based on each client and project, below is a basic outline of what you can expect when working with me.
- 1. To get started, please send me an email describing your manuscript’s genre and word count, its target audience, your plans for it, and your time frame. I would also love to know a bit about who you are and what you are looking for in an editor!
- 2. Request a free sample edit (2-3 pages, around 500–750 words). This gives you an idea of my editing style and allows me to ensure the requested service is what the manuscript needs. I will return the sample edit with a quote and time frame.
- 3. If you decide to use my editing services, I will write a contract detailing the services, process, time frame, rate, and payment schedule for the project. Once mutually agreed upon, I will also send an invoice and the work will begin!
- 4. The manuscript will be emailed to you upon completion. Should you have any questions, I provide thirty minutes of free post-edit consultation by phone or email.
- 5. Testimonials from clients help build my presence and credibility! If you’re willing to write a short paragraph about your editing experience, I would greatly appreciate it :).
